SHNA BOARD MEETING MINUTES – 01/12/2015

Board Members Present: Rich Braziel, Alanna Apodaca, Tom Ocken, Jim Montalbano, Elizabeth Doak, Craig Wallace, & Robert Stembridge. Attachment 1

Guests: Katy Braziel, Jeremy Smoot, Sasha Lotas, Matt Sexton, Rachel Langer, Carson Metzger, & Richard Hallett. Attachment 1

Meeting called to order: 7:10pm

Luminarias: Thanks to Craig Wallace who did a great job of leading the effort for the Luminarias and to all of you who helped.

Historic Overlay Book: Katy contacted the Historic Preservation Department to see how they are doing on the Overlay book with pictures and information on the homes in the Historic District.

They are considering changing the allowable roofing materials to be expanded to include sheet metal roofs that look like granite, Spanish tile, etc.

Annual Meeting Notification: 500 fliers were delivered to residents in the neighborhood and the meeting was posted on Nextdoor Silver Hill web site

Board & Officer Election:

Positions open were:

Board Member/Treasure – Elizabeth Doak was nominated

Board Member – Tom Ocken was nominated

Board Member – Alanna Apodaca, was nominated

Board Member – Gordon Rieselt was nominated

Board Member – Katy Braziel was nominated

The Board Member nominations were approved unanimously.

The officer openings were:

Treasure – Elizabeth Doak was nominated

Vice President – Katy Braziel was nominated

President – Jim Montalbano was nominated

Secretary – Rich Braziel was nominated

The Officers nominations were approved unanimously.

Zoning:

2122 Central –Beast Concepts, LLC is requesting a variance from the distance requirement for a liquor establishment from both UNM and a church. We will request that the City enforce their zoning laws.

2122 Lead – Construction has been occurring that is requiring lot-line to lot-line excavation. Brendon Williams from Zoning told Katy that they had a permit but he didn’t know what they were doing. Katy asked Brendon to provide her with information about the permit.

Roosevelt Park:  Won Best Park in “Albuquerque” the magazine.

Party House: 2001 Silver has been having parties late into the night and they are monitoring the police radio and by the time the police arrive they have stopped. This has been an ongoing problem and SHNA will work on a letter to the police.
