SHNA Board Meeting Minutes – 3/14/16

The meeting, which was held at the Heights Community Center, was called to order at 7:00pm

Treasurer’s Report: Elizabeth reported a balance of $2,484.91   Treasurer’s Report

APD: James will invite APD to our April meeting. He’ll also contact Sharone and Terri to please attend.

HOZ document: Mary Ellen Hennessy has completed a DRAFT of the Silver Hill Historic Overlay Zone document. Katy, Tom and James have taken copies to review and will get the back to Mary Ellen by the March 21st.

Albuquerque Rapid Transit (ART) Hearing: On 4/13/16 we will have a chance to give input to LUCC regarding furniture, signs, configuration of sidewalks, etc. The meeting will be held in the basement of 400 Roma NW (regular hearing room). Meeting with Isaac Benton, our City Councilor: Two weeks ago James and Katy met with Ike and Diane Dolan, his assistant to discuss 1) lack of maintenance on medians and parkways; 2) installing a 4-way stop sign at Buena Vista and Gold; and 3) the condition and short staffing of the Heights Community center. As a result of the meeting, 1) Ike/Diane will contact Marco Holloway in SW about median neglect. 2) Ike explained the difficulties with Traffic Engineering, but promised to address the stop sign. 3) Diane will be dropping by the HCC around 4:00 someday to check out the lack of custodial care/condition of our meeting room.

Presbyterian Hospital Development: This is starting to move. Dekker Perich Sabatini (working on the Pres Campus itself) has proposed “vacating” Cedar and the 1300 block of Silver. No one seemed to know what this meant. Elizabeth will call DPS for clarification of “vacating Silver”.

Website: James and Matt will meet to update our website.

Tree plaques: We will spend funds from our own budget to replace the tree plaques destroyed by City Parks Department mowers. The cost for 15 plaques (stainless steel, engraved, welded to existing posts) will be $300.00. George Paquette, the craftsman who did the original plaques, will do these as well.
