Zoning
Parkways and medians on Silver, Gold, Lead and Coal: Katy, Gordon, & Jim met with Councilor Benton about the problems with Solid Waste maintaining the mediums & parkways. There was $4.00/month/property increase in the rates to hire private contractors to perform the maintenance. Katy has meet with Solid Waste in April, May and again last month. Solid Waste keeps saying there is no money to replace damaged and dead landscaping due to neglect. When the issue is raised to higher levels they have sent out crews to do a very small and focused effort on a single issue. The sprinkler system on Silver and Gold has had the sprinkler heads replaced with the correct heads and this should eliminate the over spray. SHNA has drafted a letter to Ike Benton requesting that his office investigate what is happening to the money.
Clean-up Albuquerque: Clean-up Albuquerque is scheduled for Saturday 9/26/15 between 9:00 and noon. We will work on cleaning up Gold and the side streets between Gold and Silver. Rich will post a note on Nextdoor.com.
1600 Gold SE: This is a Pop-Up Party Site and has been reported to the police twice. We will notify the property owner of this activity.
COA Grant: The City is offering a Grant under Keep Albuquerque Beautiful. We could request vegetation educational plaques, signage for trash bins, black spray paint to cover graffiti on trash bins.
