Amendment of By-Laws: Changes were made to the wording about when the Annual Meeting shall be held.  Gordon Reiselt will post final version on the Web site for a week so anyone can make any additional comments.  Board members will review and notify Gordon by email if they approve of the changes within a week.
Zoning:

  • Some of our neighbors are parking in their front yards or too close to driveways etc.  Some board members have been putting nice notes to make these people aware that what they are doing could earn them a ticket.  Results have been very good and we will continue to use this approach as much as possible.
  • Gordon will set up a meeting with Maryellen Hennessey & Mathew Conrad from the COA Zoning Department to discuss repeated and long term front yard parking violations, and cars blocking sidewalks.  Specific issues include but are not limited to 2137 and 2139 Silver (at Yale).
  • 1916 Central – Fuzzy’s sign is legal per COA Zoning.
  • SE Corner of University & Central Smoke Shop Signs – No limit on the number of signs just not more than 20% per COA Zoning.

Great American Cleanup:  Jim Montalbano will submit the form indicating SHNA intention to participate in the Great American Cleanup on Saturday 4/30/11 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Jim will post information about the event on website
COP Patrol: Katy Braziel & Rich Braziel did a street patrol of the Silver Hill neighborhood between Sycamore and University including Gold Avenue, Silver Avenue, Lead Blvd and all of the alleys.  Katy has submitted these issues to the COA on their web site and has kept copies of her report.  Things reported include but are not limited to graffiti, trash in public right-of-ways, broken windows, shoes on telephone lines, inoperable cars, and abandoned shopping carts.
Keep America Beautiful: Matt Sexton will write a grant.  Elizabeth Doak will purchase some new bags for the existing trash cans because we are almost out.
Our Presbyterian Donation: Gordon Reiselt has not been able to get any more information from Sycamore Neighborhood Association.  Katy Braziel will call Jim Jeppson from Presbyterian and set up a meeting for Gordon Reiselt & Elizabeth Doak.  We will invite the Sycamore Neighborhood Association to the meeting but their attendance is not required.
