Meeting called to order: 7:00 pm
Annual Meeting Scheduled: The SHNA Annual Meeting will be held on Monday 1/9/2012 at the Heights Community Center at 7:00 PM. Please make plans to attend. The meeting announcement was reviewed and Tom Ocken will print and give to all for
distribution.
Zoning:
Non-Conforming Properties: Juanita Garcia, Acting Director of Code Compliance for the City of ABQ explained about Legal Non-Conforming properties built between 1959 and
1978. Owners need to have documentation that their properties were built within this time frame and these properties are grandfathered but cannot be expanded in area or number of dwelling units. Attachment 2
Zoning Committee: The Board discussed the need for a standing Zoning Committee to address the zoning issues in a consistent and continuous manner. Ian Sansom, Alanna Apodaca, and Rich Braziel volunteered to work under the direction of the chairman of the committee.
2121 Coal: The owner is wanting to increase the number of dwelling units on their property in a way that is similar to what a neighbor did. Gordon will have the owner contact Juanita Garcia to get answers on zoning issues.
Board Minutes: The Board Minutes from 11/14/11 were approved.
Luminarias: SHNA will be putting up Luminarias on the medians and parkways this Christmas Eve. If you are interested in participating please contact Richard Braziel at 848-3100. Matt Sexton will be having a Posole party on Thursday 12/22/11 to fold bags. Who will be the fastest? Who will rip the fewest? Come and find out.
ABQ Redistricting: The redistricting plans are being reviewed and debated. SHNA has gone on record that we should not be removed from the district that includes the other Historic Districts. We are requesting the Council select Option V.
